Évi Sárközi

I am Évi Sárközi, a painter. I graduated from the Painting Department of the Nyíregyháza University, and I currently live in Budapest with my husband, Ákos Sárközi, a chef, and our children. I have held several solo exhibitions, including one at the Opera House, but by using the innovations of the time, I aim to present my works to an even larger audience. My paintings predominantly represent the modern abstract style, but I also enjoy figurative representation, and often combine these elements, depending on my current emotional impulses. I don't always give titles to my works, as we experience each feeling differently, so my inspiration and the viewer's intuition may not necessarily align. I don't want to influence the audience; I only wish to affect them with colors and shapes, which come to life together and separately on the canvas, and without each other, they would disappear, just like we would. Sometimes the dominant color takes center stage, while at other times it retreats to allow a softer color to assert itself.
